The LA Clippers are coming off a successful NBA Draft and are expected to be one of the big players in free agency this July.

The free agent group of 2019 will be one of the most talented in history. If the LA Clippers can make a splash, it would easily become their most successful summer in franchise history.

It is rare that players of the caliber of Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Kemba Walker and Jimmy Butler are all looking for new contracts at the same time. Behind those superstars, their are a heap of All-Stars level players also looking for new deals. This group includes, but isn’t limited to: D’Angelo Russell, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Nikola Vucevic, Khris Middleton and several others.

To land one of these players would be remarkable for any franchise, but the LA Clippers have their eyes set on a far more daunting task. Some rumors hint they are aiming to sign Leonard. Others would suggest that the team wants to pair him with Durant — a move that would make the Clippers and the Lakers each have two top-five players.

These rumors opened the flood gates of endless opportunities. Another possibility is pairing Leonard with a paint presence in Horford and using the rest of the money to re-sign Patrick Beverley, JaMychal Green, Garrett Temple and Ivica Zubac.

If the Clippers are to trade Danilo Gallinari, they would have even more money to throw around. Perhaps they could pair Leonard with Julius Randle?

The point is, the Clippers have a lot of money to play with and they are on forefront of most rumors. While it is unlikely they can land Durant and Leonard, they still have the ability to make a big splash come July.

Here is one player at each position that the Clippers could realistically target this summer.

(In the interest of keeping this fresh, none of these players were on the Clippers last season. They should try to re-sign Beverley, Green, Temple and Zubac, but they won’t be on this list.)
