After taking two players in the NBA Draft last night, the LA Clippers have now announced their 2019 Summer League schedule.

The NBA just doesn’t start. After taking two players in the NBA Draft last night, the LA Clippers have announced their 2019 Las Vegas Summer League Schedule.

The team will play four games in Vegas, with each being televised nationally.

  • July 6 vs. Lakers (ESPNU)
  • July 7 vs. Memphis (ESPN 2)
  • July 9 vs. Washington (NBA TV)
  • July 11 vs. Sacramento (NBA TV)

Times vary for each game, so make sure to check out the schedule released by the NBA in its entirety.

Of course, the first game of the summer comes versus the Los Angeles Lakers. With no draft picks this season, the Clippers may very well end up just playing the Lakers G-League team. As of writing, we have no idea who will be featured on their Summer League team outside of Mo Wagner (assuming he doesn’t get traded).

The next two matchups feature lottery selected players. Memphis selected Ja Morant with the second overall pick in the draft. With a pick that high, there is no guarantee he plays, but if he does, Jerome Robinson (who should be playing for the Clippers) may have one of the first cracks against him.

The other lottery selected player comes via the Wizards who took the first Japanese born player in NBA history in Rui Hachimura. Selected ninth, Hachimura has potential but no one is quite sure what he will bring to the court long-term.

Finally, the team will face Sacramento who had no first round picks this year.

All four games will be great opportunities for the Clippers’ two rookies out of Florida State, Mfioudu Kabengele (selected 27th) and Terance Mann (selected 48th). Neither player was highly touted but seemingly can come in and play spot minutes for the team. Based on various scouting reports, both are high-character guys which seems to fit the culture the front office is trying to build.

Joining them will be Oshae Brissett out of Syracuse, who the team just added to their Summer League roster earlier today. Both Angel Delgado and Johnathan Motley will also likely join the team.

Next. What Can Mfiondu Kabengele Bring To The Table?. dark

It’s not long before we have Clippers basketball on television again, so make sure to tune in!
