The LA Clippers don’t select until the 2nd round of the 2019 NBA Draft. Who will they take with their two picks? Admiral Schofield is a possible candidate.

The LA Clippers don’t have a “flashy” pick in tonight’s 2019 NBA Draft, but they still can add some depth to their roster with two second round picks, numbers 48 and 56. Should he slip down a few positions, one player who the Clips could grab is Admiral Schofield out of Tennessee.

Coolest name ever, right?

Schofield was a four year player for the Volunteers and saw his production increase each year. He went from scoring just over seven points a game in his 32 games as a freshman to putting up 16.5 per game as a senior in 37 appearances.

If you haven’t heard of him, watch his top plays from last season.

If you are like me, the first thing you might notice is just how muscular Schofield is. I mean, there’s a reason The Ringer has his main selling point as “Muscles”.

Standing 6’6″, Schofield weighs in at 241 pounds. In short, he’ll have no trouble with strength in the league. His size makes him an interesting prospect. He’ll spend most of his time at the three, but could play some small ball four. The Clippers desperately need backup wings, so grabbing Schofield in the second round is a good, cheap way to address that need.

As he did play all four years in college, he should be more mature and league ready than some of the younger prospects that come out. This benefits the Clippers if they do enter into a championship window. Keep in mind, he’s already older than Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Now, let’s take a look at his skillset and what he could bring to the team.
