LA Clippers to Receive Earned Edition Jersey Next Season
After clinching a playoff spot in the 2019 NBA postseason, the LA Clippers are now eligible to receive an Earned Edition jersey, only given to teams who make the Playoffs.
The LA Clippers will be one of the new teams to get an Earned Edition jersey for the first time next season also along with teams such as the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons.
The Clippers can look to bring back the City edition jersey from this past season and just change the color scheme to an all-white theme or all-red theme.
Not only will the team be receiving a an Earned Edition jersey next season, but they might be looking to apply for a Classic Edition jersey as well.
The team paid homage to the San Diego Clippers back in the 2017-2018 season, when their first ever City edition jersey was baby blue if you may recall.
Heading into next season, the Clippers franchise will hit a historic milestone, as it will officially be 50 years that the team has been a part of the NBA since first joining the league as the Buffalo Braves.
That is where next year’s Classic Edition jersey comes into play.
The Clippers should take this opportunity and commemorate the franchise’s first few year’s in the NBA being the Buffalo Braves, and bring back those awesome Orange and Black striped jerseys for celebrating 50 years next season.
The team actually brought back the orange Buffalo Braves jerseys in the 2005-2006 season for a couple games, when they celebrated their 35th season as a franchise.
Of course on that team, players such as Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, Chris Kaman, Cuttino Mobley, Sam Cassell and Shaun Livingston, all rocked one of the most retro jerseys the league has ever seen.
In the past decade, the team has gone through a number of unique jersey designs and patterns, hopefully they get it right next season by bringing back these classic uni’s.
