JaMychal Green

2018-2019 salary: $7,866,667

Another member of the LA Clippers that joined the team via trade, JaMychal Green was arguably one of the biggest surprises of the season.

After coming over from the Memphis Grizzlies via the Avery Bradley trade, Green immediately fit right into the team’s second unit and played excellent basketball alongside Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams. He took over as the eighth man off the bench, and had the Clippers not had the help of Trezz or Sweet Lou, he probably would have been LA’s best bench player.

A floor-stretching big, Green connected on over 41 percent of his three-point attempts during his time in Los Angeles — the highest mark of his career. What’s more impressive is that he was able to connect at such a high rate while putting up 3.3 deep-ball attempts per game, another career-high mark.

Green was also a fierce rebounder in his debut season with the LA Clippers, averaging an efficient 6.5 boards in less than 20 minutes per game.

As good as he was in the regular season almost doesn’t matter though, because Green really earned his money during the playoffs.

Green scored in double figures in four of the Clippers’ six playoff games against the Golden State Warriors, three of which came in the first four games. He splashed home 12 of 23 total three-point attempts during the series as well, and scored 13 points in 15 minutes in the Clippers’ comeback victory in Game 2.

It’s not out of the question to see Green earn the same kind of money going forward, but a lot of teams will be determined to add him to their bench as well, so his price could be driven up a bit. Like Beverley, though, re-signing Green should be one of LA’s top priorities this summer.
