Trade Two: Brooklyn Nets Pick Up A Shooter for Cheap
The Nets are another team in the league that is looking to get over the hump after making the playoffs for the first time in a couple years.
Brooklyn has young talent in D’Angelo Russell, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen and Spencer Dinwiddie and will likely resign Russell and exercise Allen’s two-year team option, so adding a veteran shooter would go a long way in boosting the Nets chances in the Eastern Conference.
Gallinari would enter a great situation with Brooklyn, being viewed as the second scoring option behind Russell and help the Nets spread the floor. A lineup of Russell, Lavert, Harris, Gallo and Allen with good players to compliment could steal a top four seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Clippers get rid of the Gallo contract for relatively cheap here, taking on G Dzanan Musa, a 20-year old from Bosnia who only makes $1 million a year. Musa would likely see G-League minutes and develop nicely under Doc Rivers in due time but the true goal of this trade would be achieved for both squads.
