Gallo and Lou Disappeared
In an odd turn of events, both Danilo Gallinari and Lou Williams played poorly. Had just one of them been their usual selves, this article might have been entitled something along the lines of “Clippers Even Up The Series 2-2”. Alas, both were just horrible.
Williams was forced right often by the Golden State defense and just could not get a bucket to drop. He finished with 12 points, but was a team worst -18. Typical shots for Lou just missed their mark and there was never the feeling that he was about to get going.
Even though Lou had the worst plus/minus on the team, Gallinari definitely had the worse game. He ended up with 16 points, but was a horrid 5 of 20 from the field. He also had a lot of trouble getting to the free throw line.
It felt like he was shying away from the contact on his drives. The inability to finish there left him taking poor shots to the point that many on Twitter were wondering if he should have been taken out of the game.
This is the second game in a row that Gallinari has not seemed like himself, which has gotten some wondering if he is dealing with a lingering injury that is limiting his play.
Whatever the case is, the LA Clippers will need both Lou and Gallo to be on their best game if they are going to have any chance in forcing a Game 6 back in Staples Center.
