The Klay Game

We all knew it was coming sooner or later; The Klay Game.Klay Thompson caught fire as he usually does for at least one game every series every year. Today, he went for 32 points on 12 of 20 shooting, making an impressive six of nine from three point range.

For every great shot Shai Gilgeous-Alexander seemed to make, it felt like Klay immediately answered. The two dueled in the first quarter. Klay dropped 17 points in the first, going seven for ten.

LA had no answer for his shooting. Had this game come any other day, the Clips may have pulled out the victory. Kevin Durant did his thing, scoring 33 points, but that is to be expected. Limiting the rest of the team has been LA’s gameplan almost all series.

Stephen Curry only manged to score 12 points and was once again on and off the court with foul trouble. Limiting him usually would feel like a win, but Klay going off makes it all feel moot.

In Game 5, the Clippers will have to try and lock both down. There is no answer for Kevin Durant, but keeping Klay and Steph out of rhythm could help them in pulling off a win to bring the series back to Los Angeles.
