The LA Clippers will ride a wave of momentum into tonight’s matchup at home for Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors.

The LA Clippers come into tonight’s matchup with a full head of steam after pulling off the greatest comeback in NBA playoffs history. If you didn’t hear about it already, our own Garrett Chorpenning wrote about it: He’s got you covered.

Golden State’s Kevin Durant has struggled to be effective for them in the first two games of this series. Some around the league have not given enough credit to Patrick Beverley‘s defensive prowess, citing that Durant just needs to find his rhythm.

The Clippers need to be prepared for the Warriors to come out with a gameplan more focused on getting KD the ball in the right spots. Durant said he could shoot over Beverley with ease if he wanted to. It would be nice to see Danilo Gallinari, who’s no slouch on defense, matched up against KD.

Gallinari has solid defensive footwork and can keep opponents in front of him. If someone blows past him, he has the length to contest the shot from the side or behind. Gallo (6’11”) has a few inches (officially) on Durant (6’7″) and this would silence any talk of “I can shoot over him” chatter coming from KD.

Here’s a look at the injury report:

The Clippers have made it a point to limit Golden State’s golden child, Stephen Curry. LA is slowing Curry down, cutting off perimeter looks (this worked much better in the second game), and forcing the Warriors inside the three-point line.

Let’s hope Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell have outstanding performances again tonight and can continue pushing this Clipper team towards success.

Next. Clippers Should Expect More Patient Kevin Durant. dark
