Logan Rapp
Let’s do a look back — at the start of this season, where did you think the Clippers were going to end up?
Paul Tooke
7th seed
Cannon Wonderlich
I have a tweet saying 14th in the West. I was wrong.
Matt Chong
Yeah, I figured 7th or 8th seed would be their ceiling.
Seth Kimbrell
Probably around 40 wins? I didn’t expect us to trade Tobias halfway through, but I didn’t expect Gallo to do what he’s done either, so it kinda balanced out. I definitely undershot
Garrett Chorpenning
I was always optimistic. Coming off 42 wins last season, I thought we had improved over the summer and would land a lower seed in the playoffs. Health was just going to be the most important factor.
Paul Tooke
I was stressing the past few weeks of the clippers matching with the warriors in the playoffs
Cannon Wonderlich
No one knew Gallo would be as good as he has been. He’s been the X-Factor of our success
Logan Rapp
It was really hard to even know what Gallo’s ceiling was because of all those nagging injuries last season.
Matt Chong
That and the fact that Shai has been an absolute revelation.
Paul Tooke
I’m glad Shai fits the system
His confidence as of late has been great
Matt Chong
With more confidence and time in the league I think he could fit just about any system.
Seth Kimbrell
I think so too. He’s a special kind of player
Cannon Wonderlich
Shai has been much better since the deadline. In 2018, he had some possessions where he looked like a deer in the headlights. Very reassuring to see his improvement
Matt Chong
Yeah, just getting to acclimate to the NBA has been big for his development.
