TL;DR

So, you got all that, right? No? Here’s how we need each team’s record to look

  • 2nd – Denver Nuggets (54-28)
  • 3rd – Portland Trail Blazers (53-29)
  • 4th – Houston Rockets (53-29)
  • 5th – Utah Jazz (51-31)
  • 6th – LA Clippers (48-34)
  • 7th – Oklahoma City Thunder (47-35)

Easy enough. As mentioned earlier, a lot rides on that Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets matchup. The other super important piece would be the Blazers taking down the Nuggets at least once in order to keep up with the Rockets.

If the seeding lines up in our favor, the first round would be versus the Trail Blazers who, without Jusuf Nurkic, are arguably the best team for us to face followed by a second round series against the winner of OKC and Denver.

Avoiding the Rockets and Warriors is key since the Clippers seemingly don’t have a real answer for either of their high powered offenses.

It’s a lot to ask for everything to fall into place and extremely unlikely that it does. All we can hope for is that the Clips are prepared for whoever they face in the first round and pull off an upset.
