In our next installment of possible playoff match-ups for the LA Clippers in the 2019 NBA Playoffs we will view at how they might fare against the Houston Rockets.

As tension between both franchises has been more intense than ever, a possible playoff series between the LA Clippers and the Houston Rockets might be the most exciting match up out of all teams.

Currently (as of March 25th), the Clippers hold a half game advantage over the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz for the 5th seed.

The Rockets clinched a playoff berth already as they hold a slim lead over the Portland Trail Blazers for the 3rd seed.

This means the Clippers and Rockets can face each other in the first round anywhere from the 3rd through 6th seed.

Season Series

The Clippers have played and defeated the Houston Rockets twice this year (one at home, one on the road). Those games both took place before the departure of forward Carmelo Anthony.

Both teams still have one more contest against each other on Wednesday, April 4th, which also happens to be Fan Appreciation Night at Staples Center.

In the first game between both teams, the Rockets were without former Clipper Point Guard Chris Paul, as the Clippers would come out victorious by winning, 115-112.

In the second contest, which came just 5 days later in late August, the Rockets would play without MVP-candidate James Harden, the Clippers wound up blowing Houston out by a score of 133-113.

Now, let us dive deeper and look as to how this very well maybe the most exciting match-up in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
