Why LeBron James is the demise of the Lakers and the rise of the LA Clippers
The LA Clippers have performed well while the Lakers have not. Perhaps LeBron James really is the difference between these two franchises.
The LA Clippers continue to “overachieve” in the eyes of their doubters. Meanwhile, the other Los Angeles team sink down to the bottom of the Conference, a sulky 11th with a below .500 record.
Ever since LeBron James joined the Lakers, his reign has been underachieving to say the least. From scaring his teammates with the forced success put upon them to trading them before the deadline, LeBron hasn’t made the most positive impact on the Lakers team spirit as they had hoped he would.
In addition, James has put a bullet in the heart of his potential free agent teammates with their losing record and what seems to be incapability within the team. Speculation is finally beginning to stumble into the media about LeBron’s capability as a leader. He has proven himself as a player but it seems he leaves organizations in a desperate mode to please him. When LeBron James welcomes himself to a franchise, he creates this medium of how he wants the franchise ran under his leadership. It is like a captain of a ship but all the sailors succumb to the call without question or delay and if you don’t please the captain you are flung overboard or have to walk the plank.
The Lakers are his latest tear but the Cavaliers were his most remarked abashment. LeBron James is an amazing player, but his leadership isn’t the most successful when building a long lasting team. He makes team’s resources depleted after his leave.
Looking at the Lakers front office against the LA Clippers, the Clippers have the more formidable future-securing staff. Lawrence Frank is doing a great job for the Clippers. He has brought in many players along side Michael Winger and Jerry West to develop and keep in form. Numerous players on the Clippers roster are young. Several have taken time playing for the ACC Clippers and then are brought up to play in the League. After successful performances, they are determined to make the cut for the Clippers.
The Clippers have outperformed the Lakers tremendously. The record isn’t the only piece of evidence. The track record is unbearably in favor of West, he was the constructing power that shaped the Golden State Warriors. Not only is West now on the Clippers, he is shaping the Western Conference indirectly. His power is not comparable in today’s NBA. However, Magic Johnson is under immense pressure by LeBron James to make his desired moves, it’s not the most desired task for any General Manager.
With the Lakers struggles as of recent years, the Clippers have taken advantage and made their mark. This season has been the time to be alive if you’re a Clippers fan. With all the trades made before the deadline, it is apparent the Lakers lost and the Clippers won that race. In acquiring many assets for blockbuster deals, the only real player the Clippers let go was Tobias Harris. His impact on the Clippers was enormous and won’t be forgotten, but for the advance of the franchise and the free agency hunt, it was the right choice to set his leave. The Lakers failed to acquire a star before the deadline, instead gaining Mike Muscala. They continually pursued Anthony Davis but miserably failed as the Pelicans held steadfast in their superstar. The Clippers have a young core which is ready to attain another superstar leader. Their record illustrates their success and is going to attract a potential Kawhi Leonard.
The LA Clippers are the best team in Los Angeles until proven otherwise. LeBron James might have just put the Lakers stress to constantly produce winning results over the edge and given the Clippers the outlet to outcome on top. The Clippers will be in the playoffs, the Lakers will miss out. There is a new King in Los Angeles.
