Offer Number One – The Best Offer

Throughout these trades, I will be using the NBA Trade Machinean amazing tool for messing around with this kind of stuff(if you have never used it, use it.)

The first trade I present would be the most likely trade offer that Jerry West and the Clippers could potentially throw in the ring.

This deal makes the most sense for the Clippers and depending on the direction the Pelicans want to take, this could be a smart trade for them.

By doing this trade, the Clippers would only lose $2 million dollars of cap space by getting Harrell and Robinson off the books. Harris is likely out the door as he explores his possibilities of getting a max deal elsewhere, so flipping Harris for Davis would make sense if both Harris and Davis agree to sign with their new squads.

Motley, a young two-way player, would sweeten this deal as a growth player along with Jerome Robinson, who would get the chance to play alongside Jrue Holiday. The Pelicans roster would be pretty solid after this trade, featuring Julius Randle, Harris, Holiday, Robinson, Mirotic, etc.

As for the Clippers, this trade would clearly be a move towards the offseason as I highly doubt Davis could lead the Clippers to the playoffs by himself. The Pelicans would want the Clippers to make the playoffs in all of the scenarios regarding trades due to the protection on the Clippers pick, which will be given to the Celtics if the Clippers reach the postseason.
