Trade #2

Acquired shortly after the departure of longtime center and cornerstone, DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers went out and got Marcin Gortat from the Wizards.

During his tenure in Washington, Gortat played well by grabbing rebounds, setting good screens and being able to defend and score around the basket.

To start the season, Gortat wasn’t playing that well, forcing Head Coach Doc Rivers to start and play Boban Marjanovic more often, which led to Gortat being a healthy scratch for some games.

As of late, Gortat has picked up his game but with his age getting up there, he is slowly declining and struggling to defend younger, quicker big-men that most teams have today.

This makes a deal for Robin Lopez make sense. The Bulls have had a wild year thus far and according to reports, the team is looking to move on from Lopez and Forward Jabari Parker.

Lopez is 4 years younger than Gortat, and he can fit right away in the Clippers offense. He is a very underrated passer and screener and has a great basketball IQ.

Instead of waiving Lopez and eating his expiring $14 million salary, the Bulls can add Gortat, who like Avery Bradley, would be more useful playing less minutes and coming off the Bulls bench.
