LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 09: Los Angeles Clippers Guard Milos Teodosic (4) looks on during an NBA preseason game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers on October 9, 2018 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA.

After an injury plagued first season in the NBA and a lack of playing time this year, Milos Teodosic reportedly wants out of the LA Clippers.

Milos Teodosic‘s rookie year was not an ideal one. He showed some potential in the 2017 preseason, but was soon hampered by a plantar fascia injury that stayed with him the entirety of his season. Now, after not getting much time on the court in his second year with the team, he is considering leaving the LA Clippers.

The news comes via EuroHoops who transcribed this interview with Milos. He explained to them that he would prefer to return to Europe. The real notable comment? He may do it while the Clippers season is still going on.

"“I think I definitely won’t stay here because… I came, I saw how it looks and somehow… I enjoy more and it’s nicer for me to play in Europe. So, I will return to Europe for sure, will it be during this season or at the end, we’ll see”"

For this to happen, the Clippers and Milos would need to come to a buyout agreement. The Serbian guard would then be free to sign with any team he wants, NBA or European.

Teodosic has only appeared in 8 games this season, adding only 2.9 points, 2.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds. He was put in a hard spot after the Clippers selected two guards in each of the last two drafts. The team had an abundance of guards going into the season and there wasn’t an easy path for Teodosic to get playing time.

While Jawun Evans didn’t make the roster this year, Teodosic was still stuck behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (who now is starting), Avery Bradley, Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Tyrone Wallace and Sindarius Thornwell. Jerome Robinson also has earned garbage times over Teodosic as the franchise tries to adjust him to the NBA level.

No decision has been made yet, but with Teodosic talking so freely about it with media, it is likely he has already been in talks with the team regarding the buyout.

Teodosic was a quick fan favorite with his flashy passing but has not lived up to his hype. It would be tough for fans to see him leave, but ultimately it is understandable why he wants out.
