Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal may be something that LA Clippers fans want to pay attention to tonight. We already went over why we think the team should look at trading for the All-Star, but if you don’t feel like reading the whole article (please do), here are the cliff notes:

  • 25 years old
  • 21.5 PPG 45.5% FG%, 33.9% 3P%, 3.5 AST, 1.1 STL, 1.1 BLK, 4.1 REB
  • Signed through 2021

Beal will be courted by many teams due to his shooting ability. While he is a bonafide All-Star, he seems like a perfect complimentary piece for a more dominant superstar.

If the Clippers are serious in their pursuit of Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant, bringing Beal into the fold would be a great move. In an ideal situation, the Clips could flip Danilo Gallinari and other pieces, which would give them room to sign another star and potentially bring back Tobias Harris.

Is this likely to happen? No. The Clippers don’t really have many assets to give up outside of their two rookies and the aforementioned Harris. Many teams, such as the Pelicans and Lakers, could offer more to get Beal’s services.

While it probably won’t happen, it still is something that should be paid attention to. Having the ability to grab a young talent who is locked up long-term doesn’t come around too often, so the Clippers would be wise to at least chat with the Wizards front office while in town.
