The LA Clippers aren’t being talked about and that is okay

After their third straight victory, no one seems to be talking about the LA Clippers. But you know what? They like it that way.

Three games in five days resulted in three victories for the LA Clippers. After rattling off wins against the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs, one would think chatter about the team would pop up.

It hasn’t and that’s okay.

The Clippers, who are 4th in the West, are sitting at 9-5 which is only one loss back of first place. They have looked like a complete team and despite a couple of injuries to key defenders (Avery Bradley and Luc Mbah a Moute) are able to win games.

After beating Milwaukee, there was barely a peep. The team had just come off a loss and one victory doesn’t usually lead to discussion, so the lack of Clipper talk was understandable. After beating Golden State, the conversation focused on Draymond Green and Kevin Durant arguing. Once again, understandable.

Then, the Clippers were finally in the right spot. Conveniently, a game was scheduled for TNT and they could finally get some attention. What happened prior to their game? TNT advertised for Small Business Saturday instead of talking about the match-up.

Yes, there was some talk about the team at halftime and after the game, including how Tobias Harris is underrated (notice a theme here?), but ultimately everyone just moved on to today’s slate of games.

At the time of writing, the front page of r/NBA has 0 Clippers related posts on the front page despite being one of the 6 teams to play last night. (There are two posts about the Spurs though!)

Look, I get it. The team has no traditional superstars and are the “baby brothers” of Los Angeles. Personally though, I would love to see some recognition for them. This team deserves it.

Luckily, the team doesn’t care. The Clippers are building a mindset that is tough and don’t care what anyone else thinks. This much was made evident in Lou Williams‘ post-game interview last night.

"“Let them keep talking about other teams and will keep winning quietly, that works just fine for us”"

Next. Clippers can benefit from upcoming schedule. dark

The Clippers don’t need people talking about them. People in the NBA circle recognize what is going on. Players recognize what’s going on. Forget the media. All that matters to this team is to continually win.
