Tough schedule? No problem

We covered the LA Clippers tough schedule to start the season, but it’s worth looking at again. As of today, the Clippers have had the seconded hardest schedule in the NBA behind the Bucks.

Some people may look at the team’s wins against the Rockets, Thunder and Warriors as lucky timing due to each team’s injuries, but the strength of schedule doesn’t lie.

Many outlets had the Clips with a losing record and missing the playoffs. However, their recent success has the projections moving in their favor. According to this CBS article, LA’s projected wins have jumped up.

"One team that’s seen a big jump from their preseason projections to now is the Clippers. Prior to the season, SportsLine’s data had them all the way at the bottom of the West. Now? The projections see them winning more than 45 games and gives them a 76 percent chance to make the playoffs."

Anything could happen in the next 69 games, so take this with a big grain of salt. Still, it is nice to see this team garner national attention with no bonafide superstar on the roster.

The Clippers are home again on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs on TNT, so expect a little more national media coverage in the coming days.
