The LA Clippers are off to a great start this season in part due to Danilo Gallinari and Tobias Harris‘ play. But which player matters more to the team?

In the wake of an arduous fixture schedule which included home games against the Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets followed by a road trip to New Orleans and Houston, the Los Angeles Clippers have made a steady start which was unanticipated by their counterparts. Having commenced the season with a positive 4-2 record against highly regarded franchises, it offers the fan base a pre-indication of things to come. Disregarded by experts and pundits in the league as a lottery team, it is safe to say that the Clippers have surpassed expectations with their performances to date.

While Patrick Beverley, Avery Bradley and Luc Mbah A Moute have held the fort defensively, they have been underwhelming on the offensive end in long stretches. Further, with adept scorer Mike Scott yet to acclimatize himself to Doc Rivers‘ system and Lou Williams failing to replicate his virtuoso performances in the prior season, the team have been heavily reliant on their tweeners to produce on a nightly basis. Although rookie guard, Shai Gilgeous Alexander, and uber-athletic small-ball center, Montrezl Harrell, have made immense contributions with the second unit, Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari have shouldered the offensive burden thus far.

Should the pair, particularly The Rooster remain durable this season, the Clippers could continue to flourish and a playoff spot will be within the realm of possibility. Without further ado, let’s dive deeper into which combo-forward will be the leading light as the season progresses. In addition, I will also be delivering my verdict on the superior skilled piece among the pair.
