Avery Bradley hits his stride

We owe a very large group apology to Avery Bradley.

He’s only played 12 games with the LA Clippers, and we were all a little too quick to judge after he looked less-than-impressive in his first 10 games — especially since he was dealing with injuries in all of them.

Last season it was a sports hernia that ended up requiring surgery, sidelining Bradley for the final 26 games of the year. This season, he had been dealing with an ankle soreness up until recently, it would seem.

Now that we have our first look at Bradley at 100 percent, I’ll be the first to say that he looks very impressive on both ends of the floor.

His stats from three-point range are as telling as anything. Before these last two games, Bradley was shooting just over 10 percent from the three-point line. He’s connected on 44.4 percent of triples against Houston and Washington, recording an average of 14.5 points between the two.

It’s a small sample size, but these numbers are very reminiscent of what Bradley achieved with the Detroit Pistons last season. Prior to the trade that brought him to Los Angeles, he was logging 15.0 points per game on 38 percent shooting in 40 games for Detroit.

It’s fair to expect Bradley to maintain this level of play throughout the season. He finally seems like he’s hit his stride with the Clippers, and so long as he remains healthy, the quintessential three-and-D guard should remain true to his current form.
