We’re already one week into the LA Clippers’ regular season, and there have been some excellent performances from both new and familiar faces.

Although it may seem hard to believe, the beginning of the LA Clippers season was over a week ago. All that waiting we went through this summer is finally starting to pay off.

Los Angeles has started the season by going 2-2 in its first two games, picking up big wins over the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets, and dropping tight contests to the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans. Tonight, the Clippers will get another chance to take down the Rockets on their home floor.

Despite allowing nearly 107 points per game in those four contests, the Clippers currently possess the NBA’s ninth-ranked defense — holding true to the Clamp City moniker.

Given the difficulty of the opponents the Clippers have seen so far — all of which are anticipated to be playoff teams this year — one could say that a 2-2 record is a successful start. After all, some experts predicted that LA would go seven games before earning a win.

This four-game stretch has been highlighted by several impressive performances, as well as some disappointments. This article isn’t about that though — we’re only here for the good stuff.

Regretfully, Boban Marjanovic will just miss the cut on our top five list. After combining for 31 points and 13 rebounds through the first two games, the seven-footer was a non-factor in LA’s most recent two games.

Lou Williams is also missing the cut this time around. His scoring numbers have been nice, but he hasn’t been as efficient as we’ve come to expect. It’s likely just rust, and nothing to worry about — especially since he’s started to look better as the season moves along.

Let’s dive in to number five.
