Tobias and Gallo combine for 50
Tobias Harris and Danilo Gallinari rarely got the chance to play together last season, totaling 220 minutes for the entire year. This season, though, it seems they’re making the most of their time.
In Tuesday’s game, Harris went for 26 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Gallinari totaled 24 points, six rebounds, an assist, steal, and a block.
Harris and Gallinari have each scored 20 or more points in three consecutive games, the first time they’ve done so. It’s also the first time Gallinari has scored 20 or more in three consecutive games as well.
This might come off as a surprise, since Harris is pretty much good to get you 20 points every night. But with Gallo’s poor streak of health last season, he never really caught on.
Both starting forwards have looked equally impressive this season, and in different ways. Gallo has been the more efficient option, shooting 43.5 percent from deep and 94.1 percent from the stripe. But on the other hand, Harris is averaging more points (23.5), more rebounds (8.5), and more assists (2.3), making him the more versatile option. He’s also the better defensive option as well, for what it’s worth.
Either way, the two have started the season off on an excellent foot.
