Forward Thinking

The forward position will be another key for the Clippers tonight. With both their starting forwards leading the team in scoring, it’s likely the Clippers will need to get production out of them again.

Tobias Harris is on a contract year and playing as such. His 22.7 points per game have been sneaky good, while Gallinari is reminding us what he can do while healthy with his 20.7 points per game.

In fact, the duo ranks 25th and 32nd in scoring in this early stretch. No, neither is elite, but getting over 40 points from your two starting forwards is nothing to sneeze at.

And while neither is a great defender, they’ll have to be ready. Davis may be the main guy for New Orleans, but Nikola Mirotic has actually scored above 30 points in both of the Pelicans’ wins this season.

The two hopefully will hit from deep, especially with the way things have been going. The Clippers have found ways to win despite shooting 30.4% from deep (27th in the league). Gallinari has not been an issue, actually knocking down 47.4% of his 6.3 attempts from deep per game. Tobias, on the other hand, is only shooting 33.3% on 6.0 attempts. If one or both could hit 4 threes tonight, it could greatly open up the rest of LA’s offense and help lead to a win.

Despite poor shooting, team finding a way to win. dark. Next
