The Los Angeles Clippers enter this season with one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. Let’s continue to break it down by looking at the small forwards.

The Los Angeles Clippers never had quite enough depth during the Lob City era. They were forced to rely mainly on minimum contract players to fill out their roster every season.

However, their circumstances have changed drastically. Chris PaulBlake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan have all departed, leaving the Clippers without a true superstar, but also leaving them with the most depth they have ever had.

In fact, the Clippers almost have too much depth, if that’s even possible. They have at least 17 players who are capable of helping them win basketball games this season. Eventually, someone will get cut in order to trim the roster down.

During the past of week, I have begun analyzing each position group on the roster. Who is the starter? Is it a competition? Who is the backup? Who is on the bubble? I am going to continue to break it all down for you and let you know who has a chance to still be on the roster come the first game of the season.

I already analyzed the team’s point guard and shooting guard rotations. So, I am now moving on to the small forward position. After trading Sam Dekker to the Cavaliers, the Clippers have only three players on the roster who are listed as a small forward. However, Doc Rivers loves to utilize three-guard lineups, so players such as Lou Williams, Avery Bradley, Sindarius Thornwell, and Tyrone Wallace could all see minutes at the 3. This position has a solid group of veterans. Let’s get started.
