As the season start gets closer and closer, we break down the Los Angeles Clippers roster. Next up is Mike Scott.

In early July, the Los Angeles Clippers singed Mike Scott. The former Washington Wizard, is an aggressive power forward who adds intensity and vigor to this Clipper team. Lawrence Frank and Jerry West are confident in his role going forward. Mike Scott is about to be an important Los Angeles Clipper.

Last season, Mike Scott produced well for the Washington Wizards in his 76 games. Offensively, Scott averaged 8.8 points per game with 1.1 assists. More impressive, during his time with the Wizards, Scott improved his field goal percentage to .527. Fitting in with the Wizard offense lead by John Wall and Bradley Beal was a smooth blend for Scott.

Not only did his role perpetuate them through the playoffs, he distinctly granted them a threat to any team in the eastern conference. He had multiple flares encompassing double digit scoring games during the 2013-2014 playoffs where without his impact the team would have never advanced. The evolution of Mike Scott is now unfolding under the Clippers gaze. It is time for his six years of experience  and productive minutes to be a catalyst for playoff births in the future.

As a 30-year-old, Mike Scott is regarded in the NBA as someone who is hard-working and eager to get it done on the court. Lawrence Frank commented on Mike Scott’s value, “He has earned the reputation as a tough, hard-playing guy and a versatile offensive talent who is dedicated to improving his game and helping his team. We are thrilled to welcome Mike to the Clippers” (NBA Press Release). After the signing on July 9, Scott made the decision to bring his talents to Los Angeles. Mike Scott is that player who doesn’t relent. He is an aggressive offensive player who is going to add another offensive outlet for the Clippers.

The NBA regular season is almost upon us, Scott’s first game as a Clipper is soon to commence. One of the combinations to watch this season is Montrezl Harrell and Scott. They complement each other completely, both in aggressiveness, passion and intensity. Scott and Montrezl have the ability to sprout a tree of Clipper fervor. This season is going to be enticing for Clipper fans, and Mike Scott is going to be a Clipper to watch.
