Expected Role

Offense

Luc Mbah a Moute has never been known as an offensive ace at any point in his career. Throughout his 10 seasons in the league, Mbah a Moute has averaged 6.4 points and 0.9 assist per game. I’d expect his offensive stats to stay around his averages of 7.5 points and 0.9 assist per game.

Defense

This is Mbah a Moute’s calling card. Throughout his career, he has been asked to guard the opposing team’s star player on a night-to-night basis. Now that the Clippers have two elite defensive guards in Avery Bradley and Patrick Beverley, Mbah a Moute can make our perimeters even more impenetrable.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the Clippers end up being one of the best defensive teams in the league.

Mbah a Moute has never won any accolades for his work, specifically he has never won a Defensive Player of the Year award. I wouldn’t look for him to win on this year either. Unless your name is Kawhi Leonard, it is difficult to win a DPOY as a perimeter player.

While Clipper fans would love to see Mbah a Moute get some recognition for his defensive efforts, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
