The NBA season will be here before we know it. In preparation, lets get to know the LA Clippers. Next up, Luc Mbah a Moute.

In such an eventful off season, there were a lot of signings that went under the radar. Specifically, the LA Clippers brought back the defensive minded forward from Cameroon, Luc Mbah a Moute.

Arrival

After blowing a 3-1 lead against the Houston Rockets in the 2015 NBA Playoffs in the the Western Conference Semifinals, the Clippers knew they needed some new faces on the roster. It was their year to win, but the Clippers still came up short.

They re-signed Austin Rivers and held DeAndre Jordan hostage until he also re-signed. Spencer Hawes and Matt Barnes were dealt for Lance Stephenson, but that didn’t work, as Stephenson was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies after 43 games as a Clipper. Paul Pierce, Pablo Prigioni, Josh Smith, Wesley Johnson, and Cole Aldrich all also came to Lob City, but were nothing to write home about.

At the end of the summer, just before training camp, the Clippers signed career journeyman in Nikoloz Tskitishvili and Mbah a Moute. While Tskitishvili didn’t last, Mbah a Moute found himself a roster spot and was the Clippers’ starting small forward for the majority of his first tenure as a Clipper.

Once Chirs Paul was traded to Houston, Mbah a Moute followed, and signed there a few days later. His one season as a Rocket was highlighted by a November game against the Denver Nuggets, where he posted a plus/minus of +57, the highest in an NBA game in the last 20 years.

In the summer of 2018, Mbah a Moute decided to come back to the Clippers, signing to a one-year deal for just over $4 million.
