Los Angeles Clippers Owner Steve Ballmer nails open three
The Los Angeles Clippers may still be in the midst of the preseason, but owner Steve Ballmer looked like he was in mid-season form yesterday.
The Los Angeles Clippers had an open practice at USC’s Galen Center last night. However, that wasn’t the highlight. The highlight was owner Steve Ballmer knocking down an open three-point shot earlier in the day.
Miss the shot? Don’t worry. The official LA Clippers Twitter has your back.
Look at that form! Now, some people may knock him and say his foot was on the line and that this is a college three, not an NBA one. But I would ask you to show me another owner out here who is knocking down these shots. Certainly not Mark Cuban.

Clippers Community Court
This was just the latest in Ballmer news. Last week, the first of the LA Clippers’ community courts opened. These courts, made possible by donations by Steve and Connie Ballmer are in public spaces and will help to unite the community.
"“These courts are more than just a place for our children to stay active and experience the thrill of sports — they mark a major step forward in our work to expand access to youth sports in Los Angeles,” said Mayor Garcetti. “This transformative gift from the Ballmers and Clippers is helping countless young Angelenos in every zip code to develop their talents on and off the court.”"
Best owner in the NBA?
Fans were also reminded how lucky they are to have Ballmer as the owner on Monday when the Phoenix Suns fired their General Manager, Ryan McDonough.
While the Suns struggle to work under an owner who must control everything, Clippers fans remember the days prior to Ballmer. Thankfully, those days are long gone and the team has an owner who is not only willing to spend, but to allow other who are better equipped to make decisions.
Ballmer helped assemble the brain trust of Michael Winger, Lawrence Frank and Jerry West after his decision to let Doc Rivers run the basketball operations backfired. The Clippers are now set up for a run in free agency next summer while they still look to be a competitor during the 2018-19 season.
