Tyrone Wallace

Tyrone Wallace burst onto the scene with the LA Clippers last season, scoring 46 points in his first three games with the club, including a 22-point performance against the defending champion Golden State Warriors that was overshadowed by Lou Williams50-point barrage on that very same night.

This time around, Wallace will enter the season with more guaranteed money and 30 games of NBA experience under his belt. And although it’s hard to imagine him receiving the minutes he did at point last season, those two things should be enough to keep him on the roster and avoid being cut.

Wallace is a versatile, physical guard, and he’s capable of becoming a solid two-way piece for the LA Clippers. Not only can he play point and the two-guard, but Wallace has the frame to play on the wing as well — something we’ve already seen Doc Rivers experiment with this preseason, and something he has in common with rookie teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Versatility may end up being the name of LA’s game this season. There are numerous players on the roster — including Wallace and Gilgeous-Alexander — that can play multiple positions, with some being able to play up to three and potentially four. Because of Wallace’s multi-dimensional value, it’s hard to imagine him going.
