Offense

It is more than likely that Williams will play the same role that he played in the 2017-2018 season. Check in, get buckets, check out. I would bet that he will be the Sixth Man of the roster for the second straight season, despite being the best player on the team. He will be the go-to guy whenever Avery Bradley gets pulled.

He may have less minutes than last season, however. Jerome Robinson was selected with a lottery pick in the Draft, and if Sindarius Thornwell develops properly, it would be understandable if they took a cut of the minutes. Tyrone Wallace might also get some minutes at the two, but 64% of his minutes were spent at the point guard position last season.

I can’t see Lou getting much time as a point guard, as the Clippers have a huge logjam there too.

Defense

Let’s not beat around he bush — Sweet Lou is not a defensive player. He has built his entire career on scoring off the bench and that is it. He hasn’t played much defense, and it’s almost like he isn’t expected to. While it would certainly be appreciated if he gains some defensive prowess, I’m not going to get my hopes up. He’s too far into his career to turn it around too much. Let’s just let Lou be Lou.
