The Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves are still discussing deals for Jimmy Butler, but LA is set on not including Tobias Harris.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves are still engaged in trade talks centered around Jimmy Butler. However, the Clippers are unwilling to give up Tobias Harris in any deals, which are stalling the talks according to Yahoo Sports.

Butler listed the Clippers as one of his preferred trade destinations when he initially told Minnesota about his desire to leave the team. No deal has been made for Butler as Minnesota is reportedly asking too much for the star player.

Although Butler has made it clear that he will not re-sign with the Wolves, head coach and president of basketball operations Tom Thibodeau still does not want to move the All-Star and instead wants to try and work things out.

The Clippers can offer Butler a max-contract next summer along with the possibility of adding another star to the roster. The team has also already tried to extend Harris who will be a free agent next summer, but the two have not yet agreed on a deal yet.

Miami has also been linked to a Butler deal but the two sides have not been able to get a deal done, citing the same inability to agree on who the Wolves would get back in return.

If Butler is not dealt, or is put in a situation that he does not like, the Clippers are expected to make a run at him during the summer of 2019 when he along with other star players will be free agents.
