Patrick Beverley: Sergei Bobrovsky (Columbus Blue Jackets)

In June 2017, when the LA Clippers did a sign-and-trade with Chris Paul, Beverley was one of the bigger names of the guys that the team brought in. Unfortunately, he had a short season, only taking the court in 11 games before being ruled out for the season with injury.

His 11 games were highlighted in the inagural game of the season when he clamped up LA Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball and limited him to three points. In the NHL, the best guy at stoping people from scoring is the best goalie in the league, Sergei Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky has won the Vezina Trophy for being the leagues top goalie twice.

The main difference is that Bobrovsky doesn’t call out his opponents on Twitter.

Wesley JohnsonNail Yakupov (SKA Saint Petersburg)

Nail Yakupov was the first pick of the 2012 NHL draft to the Edmonton Oilers who were in dire need of help. Unfortunately, Yakupov ended up being one of the biggest busts of the 21st Century.

In 2010, the historically troubled Minnesota Timberwolves drafted Wesley Johnson fourth overall. Johnson has never been what Minnesota had hoped and has been on four teams in his career. Neither one of these guys turned out to be what Oilers or Timberwolves hoped.
