Jerome Robinson: Brad Marchand (Boston Bruins)

While Jerome Robinson is yet to play an NBA regular season game, if his play from college translates, we will have a serious offensive talent on our hands, kind of like Brad Marchand from the Boston Bruins.

Marchand, season after season, has been on of the NHL’s premier point scorers. Last season, Marchand had 34 goals and 51 assists, totaling for 85 points. This was his second consecutive season averaging over a point-per-game, and Boston has been playing some of their best hockey since their 2011 Championship over the past few seasons because of it.

While he isn’t as defensively gifted as his teammate Patrice Bergeron, Marchand is amongst the NHL’s best snipers. Hopefully, we can get the same offensive greatness with Jerome. If Robinson turns out to be the NBA equivalent of Marchand, Clippers fans will have a bright future to look forward to.

The only downside to that would be Marchand’s decision making. He has been pegged as one of dirtiest players in the league. Sometimes, he will get called for slashing, and sometimes he will get called for licking opponents. Seriously. Dirty play gives an organization a bad reputation, something the Lob City era brought due to “whining”. As long as Robinson focuses on scoring and keeps his tongue in his mouth, we should be good.

Angel Delgado: Jordin Tootoo (Retired)

This one is more silly. In his 13 year career, Jordin Tootoo was never a star, but a solid middle-six forward, having a 30 point season for the Nashville Predators in 2011-2012.

Angel Delgado isn’t expected to be a star in his career, but he might be a solid backup, much like Tootoo. However, the biggest similarity between these two guys is that they both have fun names. Tootoo was able to do something cool with his name though. He wore number 22 or ‘two-two’ like his last name. I can’t think of a way for Angel to translate “Delgado” into numbers, but nonetheless, these two gentlemen have fun names.
