The NHL and NBA seasons are just around the corner. Time to better familiarize yourself with the LA Clippers roster and the NHL’s past and present.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers)

Let’s start this out on a good note. McDavid is currently the best player in the NHL, posting a league high 108 points as his Oilers fell short of making the playoffs. McDavid, in just three seasons, has won a Hart Memorial Trophy (Most Valuable Player), two Art Ross Trophies (Top point scorer), two Ted Lindsay Awards (Most Outstanding Player, selected by the National Hockey League Player Association), and has two All-Star team appearances (as selected by the Professional Hockey Writers Association).

Now, us Clipper fans shouldn’t be expecting our rookie point guard to be the best player in the league in just three short seasons, but like McDavid to the NHL, SGA is the future of the LA Clippers. They aren’t loaded with much young talent, but SGA is the best of what we’ve got. He has tremendous upside and may be one of the top point guards in the league in just a few years time.
