1) GREG POPOVICH

Arguably the greatest coaching figure along with Phil Jackson, Popovich has won accolades for his loyalty to the franchise in addition to his coaching displays. The three-time Coach of the Year had erected a winning culture to a franchise which hadn’t experienced success previously. Alongside the Big Three (Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili), he’d accumulated five NBA championships and appeared in several Conference Finals. Possessing a keen eye for talent paired with tailoring systems to the strengths of his players saw him record twenty one consecutive playoff appearances. While the anomalous situation in the prior season slightly tarnished the Spurs’ reputation, he’d still directed the team to a creditable seventh place finish.

With Popovich considering retirement in the near future, he’s bestowed the franchise with an indomitable legacy and one of the most prominent eras in basketball history.
