CLIPPERS TRADE : PATRICK BEVERLEY

SUNS TRADE : TROY DANIELS, 2019 SECOND ROUND PICK

CLIPPERS’ PERSPECTIVE : A potential centerpiece for a franchise, the exchange of Mr 94 feet after merely 11 games could cause a sense of unrest among the Clippers fanbase. Unfortunately, an unflattering injury history as little as 50 games a year since 2012. While he has been renowned throughout the league for his defensive impact, his offensive shortcomings could see the Clippers pull the trigger on a deal.

With rookie guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander anticipated to deliver quality minutes instantly, the transaction of the former All Defensive First Team representative will see him climb the depth chart. His replacement, sharpshooting Troy Daniels will function as a mere salary-filler in this trade.

While exhibiting efficient shooting from beyond the arc in the prior season, the substandard defender will likely feature as the Clippers’ forth choice shooting guard and could notice his game-time plummet significantly. Additionally with effective scouting, the incorporation of the future second round pick could evince the selection of a promising prospect.

SUNS’ PERSPECTIVE :  Shorthanded in experienced point guards, a trade for Beverley could bestow the Suns with a superlative stopper and a leader. Having enhanced his shooting stroke over the years, he has developed a reliable three point shot.

In addition to accommodating a starting role, the former Rocket could mentor fellow defensive prospects in Mikal Bridges and Josh Jackson. Moreover, akin to the pairing he’d set up with superstar James Harden, he could forge an effective partnership alongside offensive talent, Devin Booker. A near-nightmare match-up for any offensive player, he could help establish stability and a sense of maturity within the young roster. A solid complementary piece and an amenable teammate, he could steer the Phoenix based franchise into contention for a playoff spot.

Should the franchise pursue this deal, he will represent a high character inclusion and could initiate a cultural shift for the Phoenix Suns.
