No. 3: Bob McAdoo

Franchise Averages: 28.2 PTS, 12.7 REB, 2.6 AST

Bob McAdoo was everything Clippers fans hoped Bill Walton would be — a long, competent scorer with magnetic hands and an efficient stroke. Unfortunately, Walton was not, but you can’t really blame him — he had a lot to live up to.

McAdoo was the first great “Clipper”, if you can really call him that. He never played a game wearing a Clippers jersey, per se, as the only time he spent with the franchise was while they were stationed in Buffalo, New York.

Those things don’t take away from how good McAdoo was, though, which is why he’s ranked this high on the list. In fact, he’s the only player on this list that can boast a league MVP award. He won in it 1975 with the Braves after averaging a staggering 34.5 points and 14.1 rebounds per game.

Mac was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000 as a five-time All-Star, three-time scoring champion, and two-time Finals champion, both of which he won with the Los Angeles Lakers.

One of these days, maybe we’ll have another Clipper win MVP. Until then, McAdoo is the only recipient.
