4. Detroit Pistons

For the last decade no player better represented the Clippers than Blake Griffin. Fans witnessed the Oklahoma alum and first pick in the draft blossom from an explosive athlete to the superstar he currently is.

Blake Griffin was key in what was the most successful stretch of basketball in franchise history. His contributions led to six years of Playoff appearances for the franchise.

Last season’s major trade dealt Griffin to the Pistons resulting in the Clippers obtaining Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic.  What felt like a surprising move at the time losing a franchise defining superstar after signing Griffin to a big contract was eased by the productiveness of the new look roster and the promise of a new look future for the franchise.

The Clippers tied their season series during the 2017-18 season against Detroit at 1-1. This year’s match-up hopes to provide more drama filled action featuring a spurned Griffin hoping to have a big game against his former team.
