Game 57: LA Clippers @ Boston Celtics. February 9, 2019

Potentially the Clippers will be playing three of the top four teams in the Eastern Conference all in one week, while traveling. Obviously this is not a simple task, and we have to be fair in our predictions, especially for a long tedious season. This road trip creates a very tough month for the Clippers and I am not surprised if they finish this month under .500.

Now the Boston Celtics have shown everyone around the league that they remain the biggest threat to lead the East and make the Finals. Losing new star player, Gordon Hayward in the first ten minutes as a Celtic really took Boston in a new direction. Kyrie Irving also had surgery just when things were clicking for the team, and after all of this they still played their hearts out every single night.

Assuming one or both of these star players will be healthy and playing in this game, there is no way the Clips’ can keep up. Even if both Hayward and Irving did not play, the youngsters and second unit along with their hustle will win the ball game at home for the Celtics.

Prediction: Clippers run out of gas during this tough stretch of games for them. They leave Boston with an L and a frustrating way to head into the All-Star break.
