Game 37: Philadelphia 76ers vs LA Clippers
7:30 PM PST/10:30 PM EST on Tuesday, January 1st
The LA Clippers bring on the New Year with a clash against the Philadelphia 76ers. This game has the looks of being a very close game but it will all come down to who can get stops when it matters most.
The key in this one is for the Clippers bench getting off to a fast start. I can see Rookie Point Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the reigning 6th Man of the Year Lou Williams posing a serious threat to the 76ers bench with their ability to play both sides of the ball effectively.
Avery Bradley should be able to hold off J.J. Redick on off-ball screens and they maybe have Luc Mbah A Moute defend Ben Simmons for most of the night. The match-up between Point Guards Patrick Beverley and Markelle Fultz will be one to watch also.
If you recall during last year’s game at Staples, 76ers Center Joel Embiid torched the Clippers finishing with 32 Points and 16 Rebounds on the night. If the Clips are able to contain “The Process” they very well might walk away with a W.
It will be up to one of Marcin Gortat/Montrezl Harrell/Mike Scott to limit Embiid from getting going on the offensive end. However, I believe the duo of Ben Simmons and Embiid will be too much for the Clippers to handle, thus resulting in a loss in the new year.
