Los Angeles Clippers 2018-2019 Schedule Breakdown: January
Game 52: LA Lakers vs LA Clippers
7:30 PM PST/10:30 PM EST on Thursday, January 31st
The Clips will enter the final game of the month against their hometown rivals the LA Lakers. You’ve probably heard already but yes the Lakers added the most prolific scorer and passer in the league in LeBron James.
They added more veterans to their squad this year as well including RaJon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee and Michael Beasley to go with the young core.
On paper the Lakers look to have the better team for this game but I firmly believe the Clippers will put up a fight in this one. Of course you have the match-up between Lonzo Ball and Patrick Beverley (Pat Bev welcomed him to the league last year by holding him to only 3 Points in his debut).
But there is also the challenge for the Clippers to contain LeBron James and preventing him from getting hot, getting easy transition scores and limiting his jaw dropping slams.
This game can go either way for me but with the addition of King James for the crosstown rivals, I’ll sadly have to go with the Lakers on this one. I hope I am wrong though.
Overall Predicted Record for the Month: 9-7
The Clippers will stand at 29-23 at the end of January based off of our projections by our team. Vegas predicted that the team would only win 35 Games on the year but they are already 6 games off in accomplishing that goal.
There will be many upsets, great games and blowouts this season but the Clippers will show why Clamp City should not be slept on this season and for season’s to come.
