Game 24: LA Clippers at Memphis Grizzlies
Wednesday, December 5 at 5:00 PM
Last season: Series split 2-2
Ah, the injury bug. Unfortunately for the Grizz and the Clips, this pest plagued them last season. LA fared much better than Memphis did, however, winning 20 more games than the Grizzlies.
While Doc Rivers signed an extension with the Clippers, the Grizzlies fired David Fizdale last season and promoted J.B. Bickerstaff to head coach. Key additions to Memphis include the drafting of forward Jaren Jackson Jr, and the signing of Kyle Anderson (San Antonio) through free agency. Notable subtractions include Tyreke Evans and James Ennis.
With Jaren Jackson Jr. expected to provide an immediate boost and as long as Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, the Grizzlies can put up a fight.
The Clippers will have one day of rest before facing Memphis, whereas the Grizzlies will have two days. While I expect Memphis to be better than the atrocity they were last year, they still have work to do before they have a chance a making a playoff spot.
Prediction: LA will come away with the win, they are a far better team than the Grizzlies.
