POINT GUARD : SHAI GILGEOUS-ALEXANDER

Having tirelessly worked on his game, Gilgeous-Alexander had matured into a highly touted two-way point guard. Having made his journey from being a little known four-star prospect to a highly regarded lottery pick, he continues to stay humble and grind.

Being technically adept around the rim, his capability to drive to the paint at will accompanied by masterly playmaking skills mark him as a preferable offensive option in comparison to ‘Mr 94 feet’, Patrick Beverley. While draft experts raised concerns on his shooting stroke and ability to create his own shot, he’d dismissed those claims by exhibiting a refined skill-set in the aforementioned departments in the Summer tournament. Aggregating 19 points, four assists and 4.8 rebounds a game at an impressive 46% clip, he’d proven to be one of the premier prospects in this year’s Summer League.

Being an exorbitantly long player for a point guard (measures 6-6 with a seven foot wingspan), his potential to switch effortlessly on defense, create mismatches and playmake effectively on offense renders him as a feasible choice for this lineup.

While he may find starter minutes hard to come by in his rookie season, his attributes are certain to land him a crucial role in Doc Rivers‘ system. While he has the makings of growing into a star in the future, he could contribute instantly by being allied to the ‘Death Lineup’.
