Clipper fans kept convincing themselves Paul George would come when he revealed he grew up a Clippers fan himself. Their success in the 2017-2018 season with a gritty squad pushed this agenda even when most believed it would only be the Lakers and Thunder in contention for the star forward.

Watching George only win 48 games with what most thought before the season was a vastly superior Thunder team added to fan hysteria.  When he signed on July 1st, Clippers fans moved on and geared their focus towards Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler in 2019.
