The LA Clippers look to bounce back tonight against the Sacramento Kings, who will be without the #2 overall pick Marvin Bagley III.
The Los Angeles Clippers began Summer League on Friday night, taking on the Golden State Warriors.
Many anticipated the debuts of the Clippers top two picks in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson. The two rookies impressed in their first official game in the league.
Though they did not win the game, it was still a growing experience for the young duo.
Top Performers from Previous Game (07/06 vs GS)
Sindarius Thornwell – 18 pts, 7 rebs, 2 asts. Sindarius played very well as he attacked the rim with force, had exceptional ball pressure and overall defense and showed confidence in his shot and game.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – 13 pts, 2 rebs, 4 asts. SGA had a terrific opening game. Though he shot (5-19) from the field it was a promising start for the rookie. He showed great poise on both sides of the ball.
Jerome Robinson – 12 pts, 1 reb, 2 asts. Robinson also had a solid game in first action of Summer League. He played off the ball most of the night but still scored when he was given the opportunity too.
Keys for Tonight’s Match-up vs Sacramento
The Kings will be without their #2 Overall Pick Marvin Bagley III as he injured his hip and groin in Saturday’s loss vs the Phoenix Suns.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
For Shai he will need to continue to show confidence in his shot and not overthink when handling the ball. He will most likely be matched up with 5’10 Point Guard Frank Mason.
I believe SGA will have a nice night as his shots will start to fall more and he’ll use his height advantage against Sacramento’s guards.
Jerome Robinson: Will sit out tonight vs SAC, will play vs HOU
Sindarius Thornwell
Sindarius posted on his Instagram Story last night that he has gotten noticeably thinner this summer.
Now that he is leaner, he is getting to the rim easier and quicker. He must continue to show confidence on both sides of the ball.
It’s only fitting that our own Sin City will shine under the bright lights in Vegas.
Jawun Evans
Jawun had a rough outing on Friday, but he should be able to bounce back tonight.
Though Evans lacks height he makes up for it with his 94-feet style of ball pressure. Jawun needs to be aggressive and look to make shots and plays for others.
With Jerome Robinson out tonight, look for Evans to get more time on the court.
