Sindarius Thornwell Leads with 18

Former second-round pick Sindarius Thornwell truly embraced the next man up mentality last season, and it looks like that’s carried over into Summer League. To be honest, he looked like a different player altogether.

Thornwell took charge early on and finished the game with 18 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal. He made 5/13 shots overall and hit 2/3 attempts from deep.

From the gate, Thornwell was aggressive. Consistently, he’d drive into traffic in the paint, absorbing all sorts of contact and finishing strong at the rim. At times, he looked nearly impossible to defend.

Thornwell did an excellent job of drawing contact and getting to the line. He attempted seven shots in total at the stripe, connecting on six. Any sort of hesitancy he had early on last season has vanished.

It’ll be very interesting to see if this play keeps up throughout Summer League. If it does, Thornwell may find himself climbing in the Clippers’ rotations.
