Three Takeaways from the LA Clippers’ Summer League Opener
Jerome Robinson Likes the Three
Jerome Robinson is an incredibly well-rounded player on the offensive side of the floor. And while we know this to be true, he appeared to favor the three-ball more than anything last night.
Robinson finished his debut with 12 points, two assists, and one rebound. He made 5/10 shots from the field, including 2/7 from deep.
Much like Gilgeous-Alexander, Robinson looked very comfortable on the floor. He vibed well with his new teammate, and it was clear the two play very complementary basketball.
Robinson’s stroke is smooth — and he works hard to get an open look. There were several times last night when he made quick cuts to the basket, from both sides of the floor, and got easy looks inside. He did the same along the perimeter to get open shots from deep. That kind of intelligence isn’t something you can teach.
His next game should tell us even more about his preferred style of play.
