LA Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley met up with a TMZ Sports reporter last night, and claimed that his Clippers are better than the Warriors.

Patrick Beverley has always been a intense player, and he’s never one to hide his enthusiasm. That’s at least part of the reason why he believes his LA Clippers “superteam” is second to none.

“Clippers when we’re healthy, and second has to be the Golden State Warriors since they are the champions,” Beverley said. “If the Clippers are healthy, we’re fine.”

Beverley also stated his belief that he and Avery Bradley are the best two defenders in the league, likening themselves to Hall of Fame guard Gary Payton. The two share four All-Defensive Team honors between them.

Known around the league for his confidence, it’s no surprise that these kinds of comments would come from Beverley. There may not be another player in the league that has as much faith in his teammates as he.

Beverley wasn’t short on praise for just Bradley. He mentioned Tobias Harris, Danilo Gallinari, and Lou Williams each as being vital pieces.

Just before the brief interview came to a close, Beverley was pressed on the idea of Kawhi Leonard in a Clippers uniform.

“I like the team we have now,” Beverley said. “If we don’t we don’t, I’d be glad to have him, but I like the squad we got now.”

While Beverley’s comments may seem outlandish at first, he does seem to have a solid point. The Clippers, despite all the injuries endured last season, remained competitive in the playoff race into April. If they hadn’t lost three of their five starters for a majority of the season, there’s a very good chance they would’ve been a playoff team.

As for what’s to come this year, no one can be too sure. One thing is for certain though, and that’s that Beverley will give his all.
