Everything you need to know about the Clippers’ Summer League Roster
No. 37 Vince Hunter, F, AEK Athens
2017-2018 G-League Stats: 16.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 blocks, 1.1 steals
Vince Hunter‘s story is a confusing one.
He played college ball at UTEP for two seasons and declared for the 2015 NBA Draft after recording 14.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. He went undrafted, and was picked up by the then-D-League’s Reno Bighorns. There, he was an All-Star, after averaging nearly 22 points and 11.3 rebounds.
Immediately after, Hunter joined the Los Angeles Clippers on their Orlando Summer League team, and later signed with the Chicago Bulls. He was waived there after roughly a week’s time.
This past season, Hunter signed a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, and spent a considerable amount of time with their G-League team, the Memphis Hustle. In January he was waived, and signed with Greek team AEK Athens. There, he won the league championship.
Now, Hunter is looking for another shot at the NBA. He’s a physical big, measuring 6-8 and weighing just over 200 pounds. He’s tenacious on the glass and has strong moves around the rim, and is a solid defender.
Needless to say, he should impress with the Clippers.
